This past season, I had the incredible opportunity to work behind the scenes with Alice + Olivia during New York Fashion Week, assisting their head stylist throughout the show and an editorial shoot for their new collection. It was one of those pinch-me moments—the kind you dream about when you’re sketching looks in your bedroom or curating outfits for fun. Suddenly, I was living it.
Walking into the showroom on day one felt like stepping into the brand’s world: saturated color stories, bold femininity, and that signature mix of glamour and playfulness. My role was hands-on from the start—steaming garments, organizing pulls, prepping accessories, and helping build cohesive looks. Styling at this level is fast, meticulous, and collaborative. Every detail matters, from the placement of a cuff to the drape of a hem as a model walks.
What I loved most was watching the head stylist’s creative process up close. I was able to support her as she finalized looks, adjusted silhouettes on set, and made real-time decisions that transformed already-beautiful pieces into editorial magic. During the shoot, I assisted with outfit changes, tracked pieces, and ensured the garments stayed pristine between takes. Seeing the collection come to life through the lens was surreal—each shot capturing the mood and identity of the brand.
NYFW is known for its chaos, but there’s also an energy that only comes from being surrounded by designers, models, photographers, and creatives who love what they do. Being part of that world, even for a moment, confirmed how much I belong in this industry. I left with new skills, deeper confidence, and a clearer vision of the stylist I want to become.
Working with Alice + Olivia wasn’t just a resume moment—it was a turning point. And I can’t wait for the next opportunity to help bring a collection to life.
